Yummy Fruit Juices, exports 30% of its production .
Yummy, which has been the leader in production of fruit juice and fruit juice concentrates since it began operations in Mersin, Turkey, in 1995 and then entered into carbonated beverages sector with expanding its product range, now has become a rising star of the industry in Anatolia. Receiving last year the Anatolian Brand Award in Large Agriculture Enterprises category, Yummy has been continuing to develop more every day. While doing this, it does not only colect fruits from its own regional orchards but also the best quality fruits of orchards in all around Turkey.
Mr. Sahin Oder, Chairman of the Executive board of Yummy Fruit Juices Inc., said that they have produced 10,000 tons of fruit concentrates, 40,000 tons of fruit juices and 10,000 tons of carbonated drinks per year adding that they have exported 30 percent of those products. Sahin Oder, Chairman of the company which has a wide product range such as 100% fruit juices, fruit nectars, flavored drinks, frurt drinks, carbonated drinks said: “We are exporting to about 50 countries, including England, Germany, Netherlands, France, Begium, Austria, USA, Canada, Greece, Albania, Yugoslavia, Cyprus, Iraq, Kuwait, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Nigeria, UAE, Denmarkand Finland.” Oder noted that they had gained permanent paces in every exporting country and they had made their own brand the most trusted brand not only in domestic market but also in those countries with a reasonable price and quarty policies.
Consumption is not enough in Turkey
Oder, remarking the fruit juice consumption in Turkey remains far behind that of European countnes, said, “Although it is announced per capital consumption figures are found in 12 liters this is not enough because the average consumption of 26 liters find in European countries. However, we hope these figures will increase as long as the socio-economic level rises. Consuming fruit juice is expressing the culture, Knowing the benefıts to health conscious consumers turn to fruit juices,” he said.
Pointing out to the case that Fruit Juice sector grows every year, Sahin Oder emphasizes that the consumption is predicted to be double up into the next five years, “Turkey is one of the world’s largest fruit producing countries. For this reason, the development of the sector open-ended.
Of course increasing exports beside domestic consumption is promising. However, in spite of everything Turkey have not fully utilized the fruit potential yet,” he said.
Sahin Oder indicated that sensitivity to the environment and the social responsibility projects are the important elements of their corporate identities as well as producing, exporting and as a result of that creating employment on the other hand.
Oder, also noted that recently within this scope they had experienced the pride of receiving the gold medal from Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan due to high level donations and contributions to the relief operations of Kızılay for Van, Somalla, Libya and Pakistan. Sahin Oder noted that such contributions are necessary for corporate social responsibility.
