The Chinese economy grew by 8.1% in 2021, in line with economists’ expectations. The growth rate in 2021 was above the 6% target set by the Chinese government for 2021. Growing only 4% in the last quarter of 2021 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the Chinese economy shown the lowest growth performance of the last one and a half years on a quarterly basis.
