Reis Promotes Turkish Dried Foods By Exporting To Three Continents

“We have been active in dried food sector in Turkey for three decades. Our products are sold in about twenty countries in the world. We also promote them in world markets and we will increase our export five folds in five years by investing 3.5 million dollars in food processing facilities,” says Mehmet Reis, chairman of the company.
Managed to be one of the leading brands in its field, Reis Gıda company is now aims to establish its brand in certain export markets. Mehmet Reis says, “We kept our leading position in the market since 1994. Awards given to our company and appreciations of our customers are important for us. Our principal purpose is to provide top quality products to our buyers in conforming to national and international food standards. We manage the quality of our products at every stage of production process. We got TSE quality award in 2013. We are also aware our social responsibility. We support in the social responsibility activities against obesity. Our motto is, “traditional tastes for healthier generations”. We also support the farmers, our suppliers, to sell more profitably and to reduce their costs.”
Mehmet Reis, also gave information about their recent project that aim to improve and expand the production of famous Taskopru garlic, the highest quality of garlic produced in Taskopru, Kastamonu, the homeland of Mr. Reis. He said, “Fourteen years ago I founded the garlic processing facility in Taskopru without getting any incentive with an aim to prevent its wastage. Once the garlic produced in the region was sold for 29 kurus per kilo. The same year that I opened the facility farmers was able to sell their produce 3 TL per kilogram. When processed, the price stability was emerged. Farmers have become more profitable. We have been developing a new project to carry out the garlic farming heritage and quality of produce by cooperating Tubitak and the universities in the region. We are developing original garlic seeds in our research fields of about 50 acres. Our target is to supply 50 percent of garlic demanded in Turkey.”
