Starting production of fresh bakers’ yeast in Izmit, Turkey in 1973, through its modern production methods and superior quality, the Pakmaya brand is now synonymous with yeast in many parts of the world. It is one of the largest group of companies in Turkey and its main business is baking products (yeast, bread improvers, flour correctors, baking mixes and pastry products). The company also has consumer product range including puddings, traditional desserts, baking aids, etc.
Being one of the largest fresh, crumbled, semi-dry, instant dry and deactivated baker’s yeast manufacturers of the world, Pakmaya has been operating three yeast factories in Turkey and one yeast factory in Rom
ania. It also offers tailor-made solutions for bread producers according to their needs.
The brand name Pakmaya has become synonymous with industrial yeast, which in turn revolutionized the way bakeries made bread. To meet the ever-increasing demand, a second production plant was built at Izmir-Kemalpasa in 1986, and a third at Duzce-Cumayeri in 1990. A fourth baker’s yeast plant was established in Pascani, Romania in 1998 to serve the East European market.
All Pakmaya plants conform to the highest level of international hygiene and quality standards, using all-computerized systems for production, accounting, warehousing and delivery. An experienced team of around 1,000 people produces fresh, active dry and instant yeast varieties in Pakmaya plants. State-of-the-art machinery and equipment is used to ensure highest possible quality and hygiene standards.
Pakmaya is one of the top yeast producers in the world, having achieved a capacity equivalent to 250,000 tons of fresh yeast through stable growth ever since 1973.
