Lantmännen Unibakes fully automated cold storage facility is now inaugurated

Lantmännen Unibake and Lantmännen Real Estate have invested SEK 300 million in the new cold storage facility that is now completed. The new highly efficient and fully automated warehouse consists of a 36.5-metre-high high-bay warehouse, a low-bay storage section, palletizing area, machine room, and new logistics offices. The total building area is approximatly 7,400 square metres.

“In these kinds of endeavors where the construction project have to meet very detailed specifications to fit the needs of the operations, finding innovative solutions and working in close and effective collaboration is crucial. We at Real Estate really appreciate the commitment of Unibake and thanks to the expertise of both parties, we now have a state-of-the-art cold storage facility,” says Joachim Haas, Managing Director, Lantmännen Real Estate.

The investment creates opportunities for future developments and underlines the long-term strategical importance of Lantmännen Unibake’s bakery in Örebro. The bakery currently employs around 50 percent of the 400 employees that Lantmännen Unibake Sweden, with the brands Korvbrödsbagarn, Bonjour and Hatting, currently has at its disposal.

“I am proud and happy that our cold storage facility in Örebro now stands ready. This is positive for Lantmännen Unibake Sweden’s continued growth, our employees and for Örebro as a region,” says Jonas Lindell, Managing Director, Lantmännen Unibake Sweden.

The business is now being prepared for commissioning and is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year.
