Red Meat Production Increases

Total red meat production was estimated as 395 thousand tonnes in the 3rd quarter. Red meat production increased by 46.2% according to the previous quarter, it increased by 3.8% when compared with the same quarter of last year. In total red meat production, the amount produced by slaughterhouses was 125 thousand tonnes. Cattle meat production was estimated as about 360 thousand tonnes. Cattle meat production increased by 48.2% according to the previous quarter, it increased by 5.1% when compared with the same quarter of last year. Sheep meat production was estimated as 24 thousand tonnes. While sheep meat production increased by 3.4% according to the previous quarter, it decreased by 14.5% when compared with the same quarter of last year.
