Attending the fair Mr. Imdat Sutluoglu, General Manager of Çaykur said, “It is not possible for a product to be organic if pesticide, that is, chemicals is involved. Our tea is the only tea the only tea not hosting insects.”
Promoting the Turkish tea to the world Çaykur participated in BioFach 2014, one of the most leading organic fairs held in Nurnberg city of Germany and offered Turkish tea to the visitors.

Speaking at the fair where Çaykur promoted its organic black and green teas, Mr. Imdat Sutluoglu, General Manager of Çaykur said that the number of visitors at the fair was increasing every year. He added, “ Consuming organic products is a rising trend. The consumers started to prefer healthy and organic products. Turkey has been a leading actor in international arena of organic products by promoting itself well.”
Sutluoglu complained that Turkey has only recently started to open abroad although it is the fifth largest tea producer of Turkey. He commented, “The organic market is growing fast with the demand welcomed from the consumer. Meeting the demand has been a serious problem because the resources of all countries except Turkey are limited. In many countries they use poisonous pesticides to fight with insects. If chemical fertilizers are used, the product cannot be organic any more. Our tea is the only tea getting snow but not hosting any insects in the world. We grow tea at the most northern climate zone. That’s why there is no insects or pests and that’s why we don’t use any pesticides. All of our tea is pure organic. Turkey is the only country to meet the organic tea need of the world.”
The stand and products of Çaykur attracted a great interest from the visitors as well as exhibitors at the fair held from February 12 to 15, 2014. The next international show stop of Çaykur is Gulfood to be held in Dubai, February 23-27, 2014.
