We conducted an interview with Mr. SahinAydemir, General Manager of HasTavuk. Full text of the interview follows:
Your company is one of few names in using this technology. Could you brief us about your technology and dry-slaughtering technique?
Dry Slaughter / Aeroscalder
This system that has earned the “Golden Innovation” award in Europe is used in Turkey for the first time by HasTavuk. In this system the feathers of the chicken are softened not by keeping them in hot after but applying a separate air currant for every chicken. The production is obtained by providing a separate, richified and maintained at certain temperature air currant for each chick and therefore the chicken do not even touch one another (no risk of contamination). Furthermore, with this system the Islamic principles are obtained at full.
What about your production technology?
Since it was founded, HasTavuk has been an ever-evolving firm, always being the first in the sector to develop new things and bringing innovations to Turkey, and the sector. As Hastavuk, one of three companies in the world with state of the art facility, we have launched Hastavuk slaughter facilities. In our slaughterhouse we do production with the” Golden Invention” award-winning Aeroscalder system.
Using this system, chick’s feathers are softened with water condensed airflow. Thanks to this system, hygienic production of products with natural color, natural flavor and natural odor are ensued. Hastavuk further secures production with its 4-stage hygiene process.
At the same time, providing a large-scale production, we also contribute to the protection of nature conservation of water and electricity.

How many countries are the Turkish poultry products exported?
Turkey’s poultry sector was exporting to 22 countries until 2 years ago but it has now been exporting to 55 countries. The markets which seemed very hard to reach had added to our export range. China, Africa, Japan, Togo, Ghana, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Jordan and Egypt markets had been brought to our sector.
In 2013, Turkish Poultry products are presented at the expositions made in 17 different countries. Also in 2013 purchasing committees from 20 different countries are hosted in our country and they had the chance to see the facilities built by the world’s latest technology.
Our sector and our company are inspected by many committees from many countries and always had positive reports.
As the sector, our export total in 2010 was 370 million USD, in 2011 was 680 million USD, in 2012 was 893 million USD. For 2014 our projected total is 1,5 billion USD and 2 billion USD for 2015.
What is Turkey’s place as far as production and trade volume in the world poultry market?
Turkey has became the latest remarkable country with its geographical position and being near to the target markets. These allow to reach the freshest and most healthy products within the shortest time. From 2007 the export rates of our sector increasing remarkably. Before, only a few companies were trying to export with their own efforts or using the intermediate companies. But now, with the studies, guidance and arising awareness of the sector of Turkish Poultry Group established under the roof of Istanbul Exporters Union, sector had a serious increase of success. This success is achieved by the management squad of the Turkish Poultry Group with their own efforts, knowledge of the sector Dynamics and export, experience, and high ability to research and communicate.
