Producing honey almost for 4 decades Balirisi continues its production at its technologic plants the company established in 2006. Mr. Salih Erturk, general manager of Balarisi, says that they had been processing, packaging and marketing since 1973. He furnished us with important details about how to produce honey.
Can you introduce yourself briefly?
Thanks for the apportunity to explain myself and my company.I was born in Trabzon in 1963. I have two children. Since 1973, I am doing apiculture business which is coming from our family with my grandfather. Then we decided to establish Balarisi company with my brothers in 1992 in Ankara. We are family company. Our firm is having the principle of supplying natural products since it’s establishment by giving the best services and qualities to the customers under in our many years of increased sectoral experience. Our company was completed the professional company structure phases and we moved to a new modern facility in Etimesgut, Ankara. In this sector, our grates aim to improve and raise up of our ‘BALARISI’ trade mark to the high levels.
As Balarisi company, how many years are you doing in honey sector?
Since 1973 up to now we are in honey processing, packaging and marketing of sector. We have more than 40 years industrial business experience in the honey sector. Our managment consule was decided to establish a new modern factory in 2006 –which it is plants of 6000 square meter closed and 11000 square meter total area at Duzce Organized Industrial Region-Our company is processing, packaging and selling natural honey production to our domestic markets and exporting to the worlds of apiculture in our factory at Duzce using latest technology and modern methods.
Could you able to give some short information about your facilities and using technology at your factory during in processing of honey production?
Absolutely sure, The benefits of using technology depend on to large extend on the purpose of its use. We carefully selected the latest modern and highest technologic machinery and equipments at our plants to get best quality natural production results at the end for human consumption and its requests.
Honeys obtained from wild flowers of eastern and southeastern regions are packaged in hygienic environment without human touch right after their conformity with the standardization of Turkish Food Codex notification on honey – determined in productions are analyzing at our own high qualified modern laboratories Also at our factory we can filling ,storing, labeling and packaging of honeys with the last technologic methods using in hygienic conditions. The manufacturer working under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, who are producing honey in real terms, with label and known brands have to be preferred. How do you produce of Honeys in your plant ? According to you; how many phases have to be pass trough until end of ready product?

Being a miraculous food source, honey is extracted with high densities from its special plateaus in Eastern Anatolia, which allows us to provide our products with principle priority to health and naturalness by giving importance to the premium quality of our goods. Our expert teams are travelling all over Turkey and buying natural honeys from our beekeepers with whom we have a regular production contract. All our suppliers are supervised by us during year. We proudly announce that all our honey are pure as the nature itself.
All honey samples are tested and graded for clarity, type, flavor, moisture and color. The most advanced methods and the most exacting standards are used to assure that every grade of honey packed under Balarisi label it the finest available anywhere.
There is three phases in production stage of real natural honey at our plant.
First stage is collecting and buying the selected honey product and enter the quality control center before store it. When it is available and pre-quality control passed first stage is starting, we accepting the honey to use for Pre-heating (max 55 ‘C),Filtration and pasteurization than keeping in storage under all hygienic rules.
The second stage of our process is in packing material prepare and bottling of our honey, here we use last technologic equipment throughout. Hygiene controls are our major priority were our honey is concerned, and we believe it cannot be enforced too strictly. All of our staff are trained to at least intermediate levels in both food hygiene and food processing. It is worn at all times by all our staff in the bottling and packing lines,
The third part is our last quality control process which takes place in our laboratory. When it is acceptable sending warehouse to store for shipment to the markets.
In Turkey, What kind of activities you are doing for the related to the development of beekeeping? And your company can provide and contribute to this development of beekeeping?
In Turkey our goverment is giving more supply to improve beekeeping activities. Our company also is protecting the our contracted beekeepers and giving some period education about apıcultre action.
The accossation of beekeepers also gives periodicly education in winter season to them. The most important action is ourside we are visiting to our beekeepers in spring season to give moralty.
While you are processing the honey product, what are the most important points and procedures?
Honey sector is one of the country’s considerable Balarisi with R&D activities, Food, took the role in this change. First of all, Turkey is establishing one of the few honey analysis laboratories, without the need for any external laboratory, product quality standarts of the analysis of its own.

A.Our export target to reach all over the world consumers with our best quality products and services. The main our goal is to use only specially having PINE honey products and our other best products. We are targeting to reach end of this year our target to extend our export capacity three times more than now. We sure and will success for it.
