Bakkavor, the leading supplier of retail chilled desserts in the UK, is expanding its desserts range with the launch of three unique pastries – the ‘Strawberries and Cream Eclair’, ‘Sticky Toffee Eclair’ and ‘Triple Chocolate Eclair’ under its own ‘The Delicious Dessert Company’ brand.
Combining the best of retro British flavours with the fun of a double injected centre to create a modern spin on a much-loved classic, the ‘Delicious Dessert Company’ eclairs deliver a surprise of double the flavour and double the texture sensation.
The Strawberries and Cream Eclair is filled with sumptuous strawberry crème pâtissière and British cream, finished with a delightful strawberry fondant and white chocolate drizzle.
Meanwhile, the Sticky Toffee Eclair – filled with luscious sticky toffee crème pâtissière and toffee sauce – not only has a decadent toffee flavour fondant but the addition of chocolate flavoured lacing and crunchy butterscotch chips.
Finally, the Triple Chocolate Eclair is filled with luxurious chocolate mousse and cream, topped with rich chocolate fondant and finished with creamy, white chocolate lacing.
The product capitalises on the rise in demand for treats and cakes during lockdown. Bakkavor’s research during the pandemic found that 75% of Brits regularly turned to food treats to help them through lockdown and lift spirits. Of these, one in seven (14%) were specifically treating themselves to cream éclairs on a regular basis.
