Termotécnica, Brazil’s leading manufacturer of EPS (expanded polystyrene) packaging solutions, is exhibiting at The Brazil Conference & Expo 2025, hosted by the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) on August 6–7 in São Paulo. The company presents its DaColheita product line — a sustainable and high-performance packaging solution for fresh produce including fruits, vegetables, flowers, and leafy greens (FFLVs).
At its booth, Termotécnica features the full range of DaColheita packaging. Designed with advanced structural engineering and leveraging the shock-absorbing and thermal insulation properties of EPS, these containers extend the shelf life of fresh produce by up to 30%. The result: fresher, market-ready products with enhanced visual appeal and quality, ideal for both domestic retail and international export.
New 10kg Bulk Container Inspired by Architecture
A key innovation on display is a newly designed DaColheita bulk container, which accommodates up to 10 kilograms of loose produce or 20 half-kilogram clamshells. Its design, inspired by historic castle architecture, features structural arches and vertical vents that ensure both reinforced durability and improved cold-room ventilation, helping to maintain optimal product quality throughout the cold chain. All Termotécnica packaging designs are patented.
Bio-Based, Compostable Alternatives for a Circular Future
Another major highlight is the DaColheita Bio line — compostable and biodegradable trays made from sugarcane bagasse, a renewable by-product of the sugar industry. Designed to be a superior alternative to conventional produce trays, DaColheita Bio offers enhanced durability, longer shelf life, and reduced environmental impact, with the added value of a refined aesthetic.
This product is part of Termotécnica’s broader commitment to circular economy principles, transforming agricultural residues into value-added solutions for agribusiness logistics. “DaColheita Bio represents the first step in a medium- and long-term strategy to diversify our materials portfolio,” says Albano Schmidt, President of Termotécnica.
Global Reach and Proven Track Record
DaColheita solutions are gaining strong international traction. By 2024, over 1.7 million DaColheita containers support the export of 7,500 tons of fresh fruit, particularly via air freight. Top exported produce includes mango, lime, guava, fig, papaya, dragon fruit, passion fruit, lychee, atemoya, and grapes. Key markets served include Canada, Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Argentina, and Uruguay.
With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and post-harvest efficiency, Termotécnica continues to develop smart packaging solutions that support the global fresh produce supply chain from farm to shelf.
