Hydrosol, a leading developer of stabilising and texturising systems, marked a highly successful participation at IFFA 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for the meat industry. Dr. Katharina Burdorf, Team Lead Product Management at Hydrosol, described the event as both inspiring and fruitful, offering a prime platform to present the company’s latest innovations and engage with a broad international audience.
This year’s strong emphasis on alternative proteins aligned seamlessly with Hydrosol’s strategic focus. The company made a notable contribution to the fair’s conference program with two well-received presentations at the IFFA Kitchen & Stage – one on consumer acceptance of cultured meat and another on the growing market for hybrid products that combine meat with plant-based ingredients.

Hydrosol’s booth attracted significant interest from both trade visitors and media representatives. Showcasing a range of innovative concepts, the company highlighted hybrid meat solutions, phosphate-free high-protein convenience products, and cost-optimized formulations – all of which were met with enthusiastic feedback. According to Dr. Burdorf, “The positive response confirmed that Hydrosol is seen as a key driver of innovation in the future of food.”
Beyond product presentations, IFFA served as a valuable networking hub. Hydrosol engaged with numerous potential buyers and partners from across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East. “The international reach of IFFA was clearly evident in the high quality and diversity of visitors,” said Dr. Burdorf. “The discussions we had will definitely lead to promising new business relationships, particularly in the areas of hybrid products and declaration-friendly convenience foods.”
Among the standout products at the Hydrosol stand were hybrid kebab and nugget prototypes developed with the company’s PLUSmulson system. These offerings impressed with their authentic texture, juicy bite,

and reduced meat content, thanks to the addition of vegetables. Another major highlight was the hybrid turkey ham made using the PLUSstabil system – a compelling example of how vegetables can enrich meat products to meet modern consumer expectations. High-protein, phosphate-free convenience foods such as meat snacks and sausages also garnered strong interest.
When asked whether IFFA serves as an effective platform for promoting exports, Dr. Burdorf responded with a resounding yes. “IFFA is an ideal venue to showcase export-ready innovations and to position Hydrosol as a solution partner globally. It allows us to identify emerging market opportunities, deepen relationships, and reinforce our global strategy.”
As part of the Stern-Wywiol Gruppe, Hydrosol continues to strengthen its international footprint. IFFA 2025 reaffirmed the company’s commitment to driving innovation and expanding its presence across both mature and emerging markets.
